Grilled Pineapple Sundaes
A delightful twist on classic sundaes, these grilled pineapple sundaes are perfect for picnics, potlucks, and Memorial Day gatherings. The smoky sweetness of grilled pineapple pairs perfectly with creamy vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
- 4 fresh pineapples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Vanilla ice cream
- Chopped nuts optional
- Whipped cream optional
Instructions:
Warm up the grill over medium-high heat
To make a glaze, mix brown sugar, honey, and cinnamon in a small bowl
Use the glaze to cover both sides of the pineapple slices
Slice the pineapple and grill it for two to three minutes on each side, or until it gets grill marks and a little caramelized
Take the pineapple off the grill and give it a little time to cool down
Vanilla ice cream should be put on top of grilled pineapple slices
If you want, you can put chopped nuts and whipped cream on top
Take a bite of your grilled pineapple sundae
